How do I get saved?
Admit that you are a sinner.
The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Know that God has already provided for your salvation.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son [Jesus Christ] that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Know that you cannot save yourself.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5).
Repent of your sins.
“Except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).
Ask Jesus Christ to save you.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13) and “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).
Proclaim Jesus before others.
“If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9, 10).
Our instructors will be happy to discuss this with you further.
How much does it cost?
The class is free! All the instructors volunteer because of their love for Jesus and the martial arts.
What will I be doing in class?
Generally, a class will consist of prayer and scripture exercises followed by martial arts instruction including Taekwondo, Kung Fu, Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, and weapons training.
What should I wear?
A pair of athletic pants and a t-shirt or a martial arts uniform if you own one.
Do I need to be fit to take class?
Not necessarily, in fact a lot of people actually practice martial arts to get fit. Being fit does help but the instructors know that everyone is different.
What different ages will be in class?
The ages vary from 5 years old to 60. Martial arts training is beneficial to all age groups.
Will I get a black belt from this class?
Students earn belts by learning martial arts skills, scripture katas, and the memorization of scriptures. Psalms 100, Psalms 23, John 3:16 etc. are examples of the many scriptures the students learn.
Will martial arts training make me aggressive?
Students learn that martial arts are not an act of violence, but the art of how to handle themselves in a problematic situation. Aggression should be channeled into assertiveness to increase their self-esteem and build discipline and character.
What are the chances of getting injured?
The chances of getting injured are very small since all training is constantly supervised with safety in mind. Our institute is very well equipped (mats, etc.) and requires protective gear to be worn by all students during partner drills, which reduces the chances of injury even further.
Why do people bow when entering or leaving the training hall and to their instructors?
The bow is a symbol of respect in Asian cultures and is just like a western handshake or a military salute.
